Age 79
On October 20, 2010 Floyd A. Surdez passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior. Floyd was born on June 21, 1931 in South Dakota to Floyd A. and Doris Surdez. He grew up on their family farm before joining the Navy in 1951 where he became a Hospital Corpsman. After leaving the Navy he moved to California with his family where he worked in the lab and management for orange juice processors. He then moved to Spokane in 1983. He married Dorothy Jessee in 1985. He retired from Olympic Foods in 1996. During his retirement years he enjoyed making stained glass and yard birds out of garden tools that he would find at yard sales. He found his way to the Lord in 1984 and lived a very happy life from that moment on. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harlan and son Randy. Floyd is survived by his wife Dorothy, his children Debi (Pat) Wible of CA, Darla (Don) Blomberg of Spokane, Pam (James) Bramlett of CA, Ron (Michelle) Surdez of WA and David Surdez of Spokane, Dorothy’s children Bill (Judy) Jessee of Spokane, Linda (Rob) Bakie of Spokane and Laurie (Ron) Eckert of MT. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother Alan (Elaine) Surdez of SD and sister LaVonne Long of SD. Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Spokane Valley Nazarene Church located at 20th and Sullivan Road in the Spokane Valley.
