FRAZER, Eugene “Gene” Leroy, age 81, passed away March 2, 2013, in Spokane, WA. Gene was born November 14, 1931, in Spokane. He was the oldest of two sons born to Archie and Ruth (Postelwait) Frazer. The family lived and farmed outside Colville, WA. A tragic farming accident claimed Archie’s life when Gene was eight years old. The family farm was sold, and Ruth and the boys moved to Spokane.
Gene enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from service, Gene drove for Wallace-Colville Motorfreight until his retirement in 1993.
Gene enjoyed having his family around him. He eagerly welcomed friends to his home. Gene loved animals and always had a dog companion. A Cadillac was his car of choice and chase “in the next beer run”. He enjoyed fishing with his children. In more recent years, Gene reveled in the “earned right” to sleep-in ‘til much later in the mornings.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gerald (12/31/12); and his wife, Ann. He is survived by his son, Michael; stepdaughter, Pamela Smith; stepson, John "Jack" Knight; granddaughters, Sam and Alex Frazer; grandson, Jake Knight; great-grandchildren, Carey and Chris Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Bailey, Cheyanna, Kaylee, Landon, and Maverick; and four-legged friends, Max and Bear.
Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2013, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St., Spokane. A graveside service will be Tuesday, March 12, at 2 PM, at West Greenwood Cemetery located at W. Coulee and Hite Roads in Northwest Spokane County.
