Farrage, Ethelyne M. (Age 93) – born August 13, 1917 in Wayne, MI and passed away September 6th in Spokane. Ethelyne went to St. Mary’s school in Michigan through the 10th grade. While attending Wayne High School and Cleary Business College she moved in with the Milton Fisher family to be a nanny to their two sons, Eugene and John. In 1949 she moved to Spokane and worked for a local seed company as a bookkeeper. She met her husband Anthony and they were married in 1952. Ethelyne became a homemaker and devoted herself to her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of her life. After raising her children she worked at The Crescent Department Store for almost 20 years before retiring. She loved to sew and made hundreds of quilts that she donated to the children of her church, the Shriners Hospital and shelters for woman. Ethelyne was preceded in death by her husband Anthony in 1977; brother Frederick and sisters Pearl and Winifred. She is survived by sons Tony (Pam), whom she lived with for the last 3 ½ years and Jim (Robin) of Anchorage, AK; daughter Michelle Parks; grandchildren Kevin and Brittany Farrage, both of Spokane and Shara Farrage of Alaska; two great-grandchildren Garrett Farrage and Jude Wilson-Farrage; sister Donna Wencel of San Diego, CA and brother William Wencel of Michigan. Also surviving are lifelong friends Eugene and Marie Fisher who helped with her care and were present at her passing and to her niece Mary Ellen Dempsey-Knox of Rathdrum, ID, thank you for visiting Ethelyne and giving spiritual support to the family.
