Age - 84
Edward Dennison Kennedy was born November 15, 1931 to Arly and Eunice Kennedy in Wetumka, OK. He was an only child and grew up in Oklahoma City where he attended elementary, Jr. High and High School. After graduation, he attended Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in White Sands, New Mexico for most of his 4 years of service. Ed and his first family lived in Southern California for many years where he was employed as a computer tech for Rockwell/Boeing. His hobbies and interests were anything "tech nerdie" and Southern Gospel Quartets. He volunteered as a cameraman for a Christian TV station in Los Angeles, CA for several years. He also had a mobile sound recording studio and enjoyed that hobby for a few years. In 1975, he married Jan Moisio, they spent 40 wonderful years together. Motor home traveling after retirement brought them to Washington where they lived in Suncrest for 12 years. Illness brought them to Spokane so they could be closer to doctors and they have lived there for 12 years. Ed went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2016. He died at Sacred Heart Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a fall in his home. Preceding Ed in death were his parents, son Phillip, daughters Gwen Moisio and Michele Smeltzer; sons in law Eugene Nation and Keith Smeltzer. Survivors include his wife Jan, daughters Dottie Lane (John) Florida, Marilyn Nation, California; Nova Moisio (Mark) Roach, Spokane, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be May 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 North Country Homes Blvd., Spokane, where he has been a member for 24 years. Military honors will occur at 2:30 p.m. at Fairmount Memorial Park.
