Dorothy E. Warrick was born in Spokane, WA on October 14, 1916 to Nicholas and Maude MacLeod. She passed away at home on August 20, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Melvin “Tug” Warrick; son-in-law, Patrick Carroll and daughter-in-law, Lynn Warrick. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Carroll, Karen Muzzy (Bob), Jennifer Wisecarver (Mike), Nicholas Warrick (Karen), Tom Warrick, Patricia “Terry” Warrick, Jim Warrick (Kathy) and Candace Slatnick (Jeff). She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
Dorothy graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (Terre Haute, IN) in 1937 with a degree in chemistry. While attending college she met her husband, Melvin “Tug” Warrick. They were married in Spokane in 1937. Both Dorothy and Tug went to work for the Spokane Credit Bureau which was founded by her father, Nicholas MacLeod in 1903. Dorothy continued to work at the Credit Bureau until her retirement in September 2006, at the age of 90.
Dorothy was a devoted Gonzaga University Men’s and Women’s Basketball fan.
She was a member of St. Peter Parish. She was a member of the Credit Women International, International Credit Association, and the Society of Consumer Credit Executives.
A Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 7:00 pm at St. Peter Catholic Church, 3520 E. 18th Ave., Spokane, WA 99223. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 26th at 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church. Private entombment to follow.
