Donald William Ward passed away on March 11, 2011, at Hospice House of Spokane. He was born on October 8, 1923, in Bismarck, North Dakota. He joined the Army Air Corps and served proudly in the Aleutian Islands during WWII. He was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Veradale and helped build the school. As a construction worker he helped build many buildings in Spokane and the Inland Empire. He had a garden in Greenacres for over 20 years. He married Violetta Dauenhauer in 1951. He is survived by his wife and their children; Joye Gill (Lloyd), Thomas Ward (Susan), Alice Roberts, Georgiann Delgadillo (Carlos), David Ward, Gerald Ward, Timothy Ward (Colleen). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Finally, he is survived by his brother Darrell Ward (Irma) of Coeur d’Alene. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley. The memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Rd., Spokane Valley, on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M.
