Passed away January 6, 2017 in Spokane, WA. Don was born to Pearl and Matthew Perry in Olean, NY, on Christmas Eve, 1933. As a child he moved to Florida. His Air Force enlistment brought him to Fairchild Air Force Base. While there he married. They moved to Florida and raised a family of five children before returning to Spokane in 1965. In 1980 Don married Loretta who brought five more children into his life.
Don worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed model trains as well; he created a track that ran throughout the house. He volunteered with the Spokane Police Department.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife Loretta, who passed away in 1997; wife Shirley; and son James Hayward. He is survived by children Debbie (Charles) Feis, Jean Memmont, Penny Baynes, Jimmy (Tammy) Perry, Robin Smith, Bette Hayward, Becky (Stephen) DeHut, Teresa (Mark) Saywers, and Laura (Roger) Fisher; brother Fred Perry; 31 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Lily.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, at 11 AM, at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home & Crematory, 5100 W. Wellesley, Spokane, WA.
