I met Diana back in grad school at Washington State University in about 1984. She was in the agronomy portion of the department, and I was in the soil science portion.  She was always delightful, smart, active, opinionated, and frequently playful and mischievous! She lived for a term or two (maybe more?) in the graduate dorm (as I), and there was a group of us that would meet at dinnertime and envelope a whole lengthy table in the cafeteria. 
I graduated in 1988, lost touch with Diana, but we rekindled our friendship in recent years.  I delighted viewing her postings on Facebook, and seeing her posted videos of her hiking with the dogs, her singing childhood songs from Zimbabwe, and of course her skijoring with her canine  roommates.  The last time we saw each other, we went out to an Indian restaurant in Spokane and had a tasty meal.  Diana's loss sure is a void. My heartfelt condolences to her family, and to those special supportive friends she had in her life. If I can unearth any photos, I'll post them later. 

I was room mates with Diana while we were in grad school at Washington State University.  We lived together at a nice house belonging to a faculty member on sabbatical and had many fun times including holding large dinner parties where we would invite as many of the international students as we could. During one of those dinners she introduced me to the man that I would later marry, Steve Poitras, her office mate.  Thank you Diana for your friendship and for your love for all the animals in the world.  I will miss you and so will the rest of the world
