Derek Eldon Taylor, of Mead, Washington, passed away suddenly on July 23rd, 2017 at the age of 31. He was born on January 26th, 1986, in Thompson Manitoba, the son of Maynard and Lori Taylor. Derek was raised in Thompson and moved to both Sundance and Gilliam, MB, before moving to Spokane, Washington in 2001.
Derek is survived by his two beautiful children, Jenessa and Zackery Taylor; his parents, Maynard and Lori Taylor; his two brothers, Keith (Ashley) and Ian Taylor; his grandparents, Edith Taylor, and Ron and Donna Dyer: plus numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Derek was predeceased by his grandfather, Cecil Taylor.
Derek was always the life and soul of any gathering, always having the biggest grin on his face, constantly chatting and ready to make you laugh. More than anything, as a devoted father, he loved spending time with his children, Jenessa and Zackery, by going camping, playing video games, swimming, and teaching them about The Force. Derek was your typical older brother to Keith and Ian, paving the path and showing them how to “be men” through hunting trips, snowmobiling in the bush of Canada, and how to be a stealthy card player. At every opportunity Derek made life very exciting for his parents, in many different ways. There was never a quiet moment with Derek, as he was full of stories and excitement.
The relatives and friends of Derek Taylor are invited to attend the memorial service of the former at Ball and Dodd funeral home in Spokane, Washington on Saturday, July 29th, 2017 at 1:00 PM.
