Debbie grew up in a military family and developed an unrivaled work ethic and attention to detail. She also had a long-lasting dedication to helping others, partially demonstrated by her years of employment at Eastern State Hospital and later Alderwood Manor. Before Eastern State Hospital, she was a social worker & always passionate about helping the less fortunate, and she strongly promoted the equal rights of African Americans. She was very dedicated to raising her two daughters--Donna and Dorian--teaching them to be strong and independent women. Her circle was small but in it were people she loved dearly.
Mom taught us to think deeply, be considerate, work hard, and to remember to stay strong even in the worst of situations. She also taught us to be proud of who we are.
Debbie will be missed deeply by her husband, two daughters, and three grandsons. We will remember her devotion, intelligence, and wisdom every day.
