Born in Spokane on March 14, 1961 to David and Betty Johnston, Dale passed away suddenly on June 5, 2011 to find eternal peace with loved ones who have preceded him. He was a lifelong Spokane Valley resident. Attending Pratt Elementary and Libby Junior High, Dale then followed by graduating from Joel E. Ferris High School in 1979. He worked for the railroad in the Track Dept., for Svadala and Ecolite, and then with Scafco being his most recent employer. Dale enjoyed time spent with family and friends, watching sports, traveling, and especially grabbing a few poles and going on regular and sturgeon fishing trips with them. He took his son Mathew fishing at Sacheen Lake the day before his passing. Surviving Dale are his mother Betty Johnston, sister Cheryl Johnston, brother Jerry Johnston (Mona) and also his companion of many years Cammy Davis, all of Spokane Valley. He was also a very proud dad and grandpa. He leaves behind all 5 children- Mitchell Davis, Malissa Davis, Tina Brazill (Justin), Melonie Johnston and Mathew Johnston. In addition, his 6 adorable grandchildren- Maisie Brazill, Emily Brazill, Gabbreella Brake, Samantha White, Tristen Dahlman and Olivia Dahlman, all of Spokane Valley, with the exception of Tina (Justin), Maisie and Emily who live in Athol, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father David Johnston, his infant brother Steven David Johnston, and grandparents Thomas and M. Edith Johnston and Carl and Mabel Nicholson. Dale was a very loving, dedicated and caring son, brother, father, grandfather and friend who was always concerned of the wellbeing of others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
