ROSA BONNIE J. Passed away August 18, 2013. Born January 4, 1919, to Edna Palmer Jewell and Marshall Shipman Jewell in Spokane, Washington. Bonnie lived her childhood years in Spokane and Kalispell, Montana, with summers spent in Fernwood, Idaho. She graduated with honors from North Central High School in 1936. Bonnie worked 17 years for Rosauers and the Moose Lodge in Spokane while raising her children. She spent several years in Arizona working and traveling with her late husband Izzy. The last eight years she lived at Broadway Court Estates where she enjoyed reading and playing games with her friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Izzy Rosa, and her brothers, Marshall and Thomas Jewell. Bonnie is survived by her son, Fred (Cynthia) Betts; son, Dave (Nancy) Betts; daughter, Barbara Blackwood; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 6th at 1:00PM in the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of Spokane and Sunshine Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, or The Disabled American Veterans.
