Born July 6, 1950 in Bonners Ferry Idaho to Arthur and Thelma (Anderson) Edmondson. Art and Thelma ran a small dime store in Bonners Ferry. The family moved back to the Spokane Area in 1952 after the business burned down. They then ran Edmondson’s Dry Goods on the corner of Pines and Sprague. Willene worked in the store on and off until it closed in 1968.
Willene graduated from University High School in 1968 where she participated in choir and swing choir. She attended SFCC, EWU, and WSU.
Willene worked at Crescent Department Store in the University City Mall in Spokane Valley part time during her college career and then full time from 1973 until 1983. She worked part time at the Spokane County Juvenile Court for a number of years and was a volunteer for Juvenile Court in the Diversion Program. Scott Rynan, Diversion Coordinator, says Willene was a bonus aunt to his family and always had a ready smile and giggle. Willene also volunteered at First Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted daughter and daughter-in-law, dog lover extraordinaire, especially for Dachshunds.
Willene married Andrew Wick on March 15, 1975, and they were together for 43 years until her death. She is preceded in death by her parents Art and Thelma Edmondson. She is survived by her husband Andrew.
