On the morning of April 16, 1930, Vance Quinn Sims was born in the Big Spring Hospital in Big Spring, Texas, to his parents Voris Vance Sims and Stella Opal Lynn Sims. His death came on October 27, 2023 at the age of 93.
His life ambition was geared to that of education, having completed over 50 years of service in California and Washington, as well as 2 years at NTC, a religious college in Australia. Up to the age of 90, he also worked as a “Sub” for the West Valley School District.
Surviving is his wife Mabel and a brother, Jimmie Ray Sims.
Other family survivors are Dennis and Michelle Sims, Jonny and Diane Sims, Cindy Sims, Terry Sims, Paul Burnett, Philip and Heidi Burnett, Linda Rose Brown, Linda Marie Wall, Anthony Sims and Steve Sims.
There are also numerous nieces, nephews, grands and great grands.
A Committal Service is scheduled for October 15 at 2:00 PM at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Rd, Spokane, WA. A Memorial Service will be held in the Spokane area in April of 2024, exact date to be determined.
