August 24, 1957 – March 3, 2023
Mike passed away in his sleep on March 3, 2023. His health had been failing for over three years. He fought a very valiant, difficult fight to try and overcome one illness after another due to Adult-Onset diabetes that was diagnosed in 2005. Mike was welcomed into the world on August 24, 1957, by his parents Oliver and LaVonne (Wagner) Klinger. He was the youngest and had two older sisters, Diane the eldest, and Debra. From adolescence, Mike had always worked. In 1974 Mike enlisted into the US Army and worked as a Huey helicopter repairman. He was honorably discharged in 1977 and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad. Mike eventually slapped on his tool bag and started his career in building construction. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister Debra. He is survived by his sister Diane Smith, his son, Nathan Klinger, his cousin Bonnie Gebhard (Loren), his cousin Nancy Eoff (Gary) of Soldotna, AK, and his loving and devoted wife, Kathleen. Our family wants to thank all the doctors, nurses, technicians and staff at Fresenius Spokane Kidney Center, Deaconess Hospital, Evergreen Prosthetics and Orthotics, Sunshine Home Care, TheKey Home Care, and the VA Medical Center for all they did to help Mike. There will be a viewing at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home on Thursday, March 16th from 4 to 7pm, and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors on Saturday, March 25th at 1pm at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HazenJaegerValley.com for the Klinger family.
