She was born in Spokane Washington to DeLoris & Garold Shipley on March 12, 1958. A 1976 U-High graduate, Lynn received her Bachelor’s Degree from EWU. She devoted her life to helping others and worked as a counselor for the YWCA Homeless School for several years. Advocating for those experiencing domestic violence, Lynn was honored with a Volunteer of the Year award for her activism. Lynn also worked for The Lighthouse for the Blind where she made many of her lifelong friends.
She loved lattes, country music, concerts, chatting on the phone and sharing her heart of gold with others. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years Orin Pierce, bonus daughter Katee Claros (Jack), granddaughters Jaylee and Aubree, brother Garold Shipley (Kitty), twin sister Melanie Goeller (Robert), and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service in memory of Lynn is scheduled for 3:00pm on Friday February 17 at Thornhill Valley Chapel on Pines Road. Following the service, Lynn's family will be hosting a reception at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 503 N Walnut, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
