Linda Diane Murphy

Linda D. Murphy died August 10, 2016 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born June 1949 in Heidelberg Germany while her father was stationed there. She lived in several locations while her father served in the military until the family settled in San Diego where she attended high school and college. She eventually moved to Spokane and began her family.

She started working at Gonzaga University in 1976 and completed over 35 years of service, the majority of which she served as Director of Student Accounts. She thoroughly enjoyed working with students and parents by finding solutions that allowed them to attend the University and complete their studies. She made many lifetime friends during her years of service. In retirement she enjoyed volunteer work at St. Luke’s Hospital and at SCRAPS. She greatly loved her family and had a soft spot for all animals.

She is survived by her husband Chuck, children Steve and Melissa, and step-children Brian, Shawn, and Kalin, and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Dorothy. She is preceded in death by her son Greg, as well as her father Irving and brother Mike.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00am at ValleyPoint Church, 714 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA at 11:00 am. A reception follows. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Thornhill Valley Chapel.
