Kenneth Albert Johnson

JOHNSON, Kenneth Albert – (age 78) passed away on February 21, 2017 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Kenneth was born on November 18, 1938 in Spokane, WA to Ernest & Anna (Vanbell) Johnson. Ken was raised in Spokane and graduated from Cheney High School. He met Donna Freeman as a freshman classmate at Cheney HS and they married in 1957. Ken & Donna moved to Alaska where they lived and worked for 13 years before returning to the Inland Empire and eventually building a home and settling in St. Maries, ID. Both Ken & Donna became licensed pilots while living in Alaska. Ken was an avid hunter and enjoyed the time spent hunting with his hounds.

Ken is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna Johnson, sons, Gene (Sherry) Johnson of Mead, WA, Tracy (Kim) Johnson of Freeman, WA, Sister Deanna (Michael ) Carpenter of Hettinger, ND, 8 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren, 1 brother & 4 sisters.

Ken was preceded in death by a daughter Wanda Dunken in 2013.

A time of visitation will take place on Friday February 24, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home 1306 N. Pines Rd. Spokane Valley, WA . Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Spokane Memorial Gardens, 5909 S. Cheney – Spokane Rd. Spokane, WA. Memorials may be to The Schneidmiller House, 9493 N.
