Judy was born on May 19, 1948, in Williston, ND, to Ernest and Irene Jeanette (Kulseth) Christensen. She was married to Kenneth A. Anderson on April 23, 1968. Judy attended grade school and graduated from high school in Williston, ND in 1966. Fresh out of high school, Judy worked for KUMV-TV in Williston. She then attended Airline Personnel School in Kansas City, MO, before accepting employment with Northwest Orient Airlines in Seattle, WA. Judy and Ken began their travels around the country while Ken served first in the U.S. Navy (4 years) and then in the U.S. Air Force for the next 22 years. Their military assignments took them to San Diego, CA, while Ken was serving aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard; Ent AFB in Colorado Springs, CO; McChord AFB in Tacoma, WA; Minot AFB in Minot, ND; Iowa State University in Ames, IA; Hill AFB, in Ogden, UT; Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK; and lastly to Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA. While in Anchorage, Judy began her federal employment with the National Labor Relations Board. Upon their final transfer to Spokane, WA, she then transferred to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. After completing 30 years of federal service, Judy retired in 2011. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. As a young mother, she was a leader of her daughters’ Girl Scouts troops which she enjoyed very much. She and her husband enjoyed league bowling at Elmendorf AFB and also Fairchild AFB. During her Federal Service, she was recognized many times for her efficiency and dedication. During her service time she traveled to many remote locations in Alaska, such as Barrow, Prudhoe Bay, and Nome. Her service has taken her all over the country including Washington DC, Georgia, and California. She was a loving and supportive wife, and a wonderful, caring mother. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Jeanette Christensen, and by her brothers Roger Christensen (in 1971); Raymond Christensen (in 1996); and John Christensen (in 2003). She is survived by her husband, Ken, and daughters Keni Lynn (David) Campbell of Juneau, AK, and Kara Britt Czernik of Spokane, WA; and grandsons Tyler Campbell of Seattle, WA, and Cody Campbell of Juneau, AK. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Jerry (Karen) Christensen of Littleton, CO. Funeral arrangements are provided by Thornhill Valley Chapel in Spokane Valley, WA, and Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home in Williston, ND. Local services will be held at Thornhill Valley Chapel with a visitation on July 22 10am-1pm, followed by funeral services at 1pm. Services at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home in Williston will be held at a later date.
