Jill Denise Vanos

Jill was born on July 11, 1959 in Columbus, NE to Elmer Dasenbrock and Adeline Wilke. She graduated from Logan View High School in Hooper, NE in 1977 before moving to Omaha in 1980. Here she started working as a pediatric nursing assistant with the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she stayed for the next 4 years.

Jill married David Neil Vanos in 1983 and later had 3 beautiful children together. David was a physician who was deeply involved in anesthesiology and pain management for the majority of his life but always had time to make Jill smile.

Jill was passionate about gardening and loved to pick huckleberries. She loved spending time outdoors and maintained an active lifestyle through running, swimming, and bicycling. She was also a talented vocalist and enjoyed singing immensely. Jill will always be remembered by her friends and family as a wonderful mother as well as for her compassionate and caring nature.

Jill is survived by her husband, David Neil Vanos of Mead, WA, her sons Neil and Nathan Vanos of Spokane, WA, and her daughter, Chelsea Touloei of Seattle, WA. She is preceded in death by her father, Elmer Dasenbrock and her mother Adeline (Wilke) Dasenbrock.

A celebration of life will be held at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 26th at 10AM with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jill’s extraordinary life.

The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice for taking exceptional care of Jill in her hour of need.

In remembrance of Jill's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, Horizon Hospice, or the Fred Hutchison Cancer Center.
