James "Jim" I. Moss

MOSS, James I. (62) passed away Sept. 10, 2011. Jim was born Nov. 29, 1948. He belonged to the Silver Spurs Dance group in high school and was able to enjoy traveling with them to 33 states as well as Canada and Mexico. He graduated West Valley High School in 1967. Jim served in the United States Navy from 1971-1977, on the USS Davidson during the Vietnam War. Jim earned his bachelor degree in 1977 at Eastern State University and his welding certificate from Spokane Community College in 1984. Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, volleyball, reading and especially music. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lucille Moss, and his niece Brandy Moss. He is survived by his brother Craig (Ilene) Moss of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, his sister Christine Swanson of Deer Park, WA, his son Aaron Moss, nephews, Aaron (Cathy) Hannawalt of Rathdrum, ID, Matthew (Katie) Swanson of Spokane Valley, WA and Kristopher Moss of Tri-Cities, WA; nieces, Alecia Hannawalt of Spokane Valley, Wendi (Chris) Lingle of Deer Park, WA as well as many great-nephews, nieces and cousins. Thanks to Sabrina Campbell and the staff at Whispercreek for taking such good care of Jim and to Hospice for making his final weeks more comfortable. A visitation will be held on Friday Sept. 23, 2011 from 4:00-8:00pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held in Jims honor on Sat. Sept. 24, 2011 at 10:00AM at Thornhill Valley Chapel 1400 S. Pines Rd. Spokane Valley, Interment will follow at Pines Cemetery with military honors.
