She was born in Spokane and graduated from Mead High School where she met her future husband, Lyle. They married in 1945 and had 2 sons, Terry and Jay. They were married for 66 years, and made their home in the Deer Park area. While Lyle farmed, Ida worked as a legal secretary in Deer Park and then as a secretary in various Washington state departments, retiring in 1992. Ida and Lyle enjoyed travelling, camping and huckleberry picking. She loved gardening, especially growing flowers. Ida was always cheerful and optimistic. In her later years, she and Lyle enjoyed hearty, Christian fellowship with friends in Deer Park and Spokane. In 2009, Ida and Lyle moved to Evergreen Fountains in the Spokane valley where Ida met many new friends. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Lyle, and survived by her 2 sons, Terry of Wenatchee WA, and Jay of Lynnwood WA, several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Evergreen Fountains for providing a loving, caring atmosphere during Ida’s last years.
