Gilbert Lee Griffin

Gil’s parents were Grace O’Neil and Lawrence Griffin. Gil had two sisters Lauretta (Corky) and Janet, one stepbrother Theodore (Ted) and an older brother Tom.

After graduating from high school Gil joined the Navy and was stationed in Guam. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned home to Bly, Oregon. He met the love of his life, Barbara Sue Richardson from Kamath Falls, Oregon and they married in January 1961.

Gil enjoyed spending time with his wonderful family, playing cards, watching the 'Zags, riding motorcycles in his early years and his riding lawn mower in his later years. Gil and Barb visited several states and countries, and made many great memories camping, fishing and spending afternoons at the lake cabin. They were blessed to be married for 62 years and to have made so many dear friends. Gil truly lived a wonderful life.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue, three sons Gregory (Michelle) Griffin, Stephen (Eutropia) Griffin and David Griffin and grandson Joseph Griffin. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on March 25th at Thornhill Valley Chapel, located at 1400 S Pines Rd, Spokane Valley. Donations can be sent to Shriners Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
