Elizabeth Karin Burkland

Elizabeth Burkland was born in Seattle on May 28, 1980 and was called Home from this earth on November 12, 2022. She was preceded in death by her brother Kristian Burkland. She is survived by her father Kris Burkland, mother Julie Balek, stepfather Walter Balek, son Tavin Wilhelm, sister Misty (Jason) Mulligan, and stepsisters Karen Balek and Joyce (Kevin) Haiar.

Beth was a graduate of Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Special Education from Gonzaga University.

Beth had a talent and a way with horses, training and showing Arabians, including breaking and training Arabian stallions.

We will remember Beth for her outgoing personality that allowed her to make friends with everybody, her infectious laugh, her beautiful singing voice, her love of animals, particularly horses and dogs, and her stubbornness and will to live life as she saw it.

A memorial service for the immediate family is planned. Anyone wishing to support one of Beth’s great passions is asked to make a contribution in her memory to SCRAPS or Spokane Humane Society.
