Barb was born November 28, 1944 to Charles and Doris Redmond in Avon Park, Florida. They were later blessed with a son, and younger brother, Bill. Barb passed peacefully on June 13th at Deaconess Medical Center with family by her side. Barb’s family moved from Florida to Walla Walla, Washington after her father was discharged from the US Army. She attended a Catholic elementary school in Walla Walla and later graduated from Desales High School. She attended Walla Walla Community College and gained skills in accounting and business practices. Barb was a mere 22 years old when both of her parents died within a two-day period, her father from an extended illness and her mother from a choking incident. She was left to raise her younger brother, Bill, with much help from her aunts and uncles to which she was forever grateful. She married her first husband, Lloyd Anderson, and they were blessed with their only child, Brett. After her separation from her first husband, Barb worked several jobs as a single parent before landing a position with Inland Asphalt/Central Pre-Mix where she worked for 25 years and she retired in 2010. She also worked a second job as a bartender at the VFW in the Spokane Valley where she met the love of her life, Ronald “RT” Hebb. They spent a wonderful 24 years together, and they loved to spend time up on the Yaak River in NW Montana with friends and family fishing, hunting, camping and enjoying the beautiful river and mountains.
Barb is survived by her son, Brett Anderson (Erin), RT’s daughter Michelle Duke (Dave), all of Spokane. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, and Mariah. She is survived by her brother, Bill Redmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Doris Redmond, and her true love, “RT”, just a short time ago in February. There will be a memorial service in her honor at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206 on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2pm.
