Ardis was born in Spokane, WA on March 5, 1923 to Anna Mitchell Stone and Willis Freeman Stone.
She graduated from West Valley High School, where she met her future husband, in 1941. She married Robert Lewis Doty on Feb. 9, 1942.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who she was married to for 53 years, and her three brothers, Edward, Willis and Robert Stone.
She is survived by her 3 children, Richard Doty (Karen), Larry Doty (Sharon) and Marilyn Hatch (Terry). Also surviving are five grandchildren, Chad, Christopher, Terry, Ryan and Erin. She was also very proud of her 9 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She has numerous nieces and nephews.
Ardis was a military wife for 23 years moving around the United States as the military gave orders. To add to the family income, she worked as a secretary at the local schools where they resided at the time. In later years, after her husband retired from the military, she worked for the State of Washington for 5 years.
Ardis was an avid quilter making beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren.
She and her husband belonged to Pines Baptist Church for over 30 years, and were members of the A.O.U.W. Lodge and National Camping Travelers.
The family wishes to express great appreciation to the staff at Evergreen Fountains Assisted Living and to Kindred Hospice for the excellent nursing care shown to her.
A viewing of Ardis will be held at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd. from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Nov. 28, 2018. A graveside service will occur at Greenwood Cemetery, 211 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA. on November 29th at 2:00pm. in the Arlington West section of the cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
