William L. Wintermute

Bill was born on November 7, 1942 in Madison, NJ, to the late Gerald and Louise (McFadden) Wintermute of Madison, NJ.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1965. After his military service, he joined the Carpenters Union Local 620 in Madison, NJ and had a successful 50 year career as a skilled and expert Carpenter. He was a resident of Sparta, NJ for 53 years and especially enjoyed working on his many home renovation and landscaping projects.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jane Prior Wintermute of Sparta, NJ, and their sons, Christopher Wintermute (Briget) of Chester, NY, Bill Cannon (Lori) of Severna Park, MD and daughter Jennifer Cannon Cataldo (Patrick) of Glen Allen, VA. Bill enjoyed being a grandfather and the special time he spent with his grandchildren, Lily and Declan Wintermute, Patrick and Madison Cannon, Patrick, Kaitlin, Ryan, and Parker Cataldo.

His family is grateful to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice and for all the wonderful care they provided him during his final year.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 7th from 4 - 5PM at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research by clicking the link below.
