Robert James McKenna

Vernon, NJ- Robert James McKenna peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center, in Middletown, NY surrounded by his wife and loving family. Robert was born in Hackensack, NJ to Charles and Marion (Oberg) McKenna. He has resided in Sussex for the past 40 years, previously living in Wood Ridge, NJ. Robert was a member of the Pipefitters Local Union 274 in Parsippany, NJ, and The Franklin Rifle and Revolver Club. He was employed for over 50 years as a pipefitter with the Local Union 274. Predeceasing him is a brother; Charles McKenna Jr. Surviving Robert is his beloved wife of 46 years, Nancy (Ackerson) McKenna, Two sons; Robert Jr. and his wife Valerie of Sparta, and Ryan J. of Vernon. Two sisters, Jane Bodnar and her husband Stephen, and Grace Bayerlein. Friends and family are invited Sunday, September 24 from 2~4 and 7~9pm to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A 10 am Funeral Service will be celebrated Monday at Christ Episcopal Church 62 Main Street Newton, NJ 07860. Cremation is private.
