Paul C. Johnson, 70, of Sparta, New Jersey passed away on June 26, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, New Jersey. He was born in the Bronx, and lived in Elizabeth and Rahway before moving to Sparta in 1977. Paul was a graduate of Kean University in Union, New Jersey where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in history in 1975. During his career Paul worked as a telecommunications executive for numerous fortune 500 companies. Paul was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in the City of New York, member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, member of the Marquette Council of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sparta, NJ; where he was also an usher; member and past President of the Sparta Board of Education for 12 years, member of the Franklin Revolver and Rifle Club, associate member of the Sparta Ambulance Squad, he was a CYO coach at Our Lady of the Lake in Sparta, member of the Lake Mohawk Country Club for 60 years, and Paul was involved with the administration and coaching at Sparta Recreation. He is predeceased in life by his parents Robert J. Johnson and Catharine V. Healy Johnson and his brother Gregory B. Johnson. Paul is survived by his beloved wife Janice Paulmenn Johnson; devoted father of Kerry Debski and her husband Jason of Andover, NJ; Kevin Johnson and his wife Janette of Hopatcong; brother of Robert J. Johnson and his wife Carolyn of Lodi, CA and Neal J. Johnson of Kinnelon, NJ; and beloved grandfather of AJ and Elizabeth Debski. Friends may call Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2-4, 7-9pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral mass will be held on Monday 10am at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave, Sparta, NJ 07871. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery.
