Pat grew up in Highland Park, New Jersey where she spent many a Saturday afternoon with her father watching Rutger's football. She attended high school at the Northfield School for girls in Massachusetts where she excelled in swimming. She continued her education at Syracuse University and upon graduation, moved back to the New Brunswick area. That's where she met Henry.
