SPARTA- Kenneth R. Roenicke, peacefully passed into eternal life on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his residence. He was 68. Kenneth was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Charles and Elsie Roenicke. He grew up in West New York, NJ prior to moving to Sparta in 1975. Kenneth served his country proudly in the U.S. Army having served in Germany during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he was employed as a Technician Specialist with Sun Microsystems, formerly Storage Technology Corporation in Mountainside, NJ for 35 years, retiring in 2009. He was a head usher for the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, and a member of the American Legion. Predeceasing him is his daughter; Kim Roenicke in 2010. He is survived by his spouse of 41 years, Carolee (Owens) Roenicke of Sparta, a son; Andrew, and his wife Shannon of Hanover, Md. A daughter; Nadine Centineo and her husband Brad of Eldersburg, Md. Two Grandchildren; Grant and Addilyn Centineo and a brother; Chuck Roenicke and his wife Jackie of Ridgefield, NJ. Family and friends are invited Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8pm to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A 10 am Funeral Service, Thursday from First Presbyterian Church of Sparta will be celebrated, followed by a luncheon.
