Joseph A. Yuppa

Joseph A. Yuppa, 71, of Byram, NJ passed away on December 20, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 12, 1946 in Hackensack, NJ. Joe was an industrial engineer with BSIE from Newark College of Engineering and MS in Engineering Management from NJIT. His career included both the manufacturing and residential services industries. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Army and his service years were during the Vietnam War era. As a member of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha parish, he served as usher at the 11:30 mass. Since 1995 Joe has been active in the Montville Rotary Club, served as past president, current Treasurer, and honored as 2017 Rotarian of the year from District 7470 http://montvillerotarynj.org/Stories/joe-yuppa-from-montville-is-rotarian-of-the-year . He was a “make things happen” man, a bit of a MacGyver with his unconventional problem-solving skills, made great lasagna, and loved his wife and family. Joe was talented, energetic and helped others. He was romantic, he was kind, and he was happy.

As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he is survived by his cherished wife, Faye Gregory-Yuppa, 8 children listed below, 29 grandchildren (including newest blessing born Dec. 22, Lydia Noelle Yuppa), his sister, Connie (George) Swanson, nieces, nephews, cousins. He is predeceased by grandson, Chase Cummings.

Joe’s loving children: Lori (Jeff) Yuppa-Jones, Joseph Jr. (Carren) Yuppa, Christopher (Sonya) Yuppa, Scott (Christin) Yuppa, Peter Yuppa, Kim Ferreri, Keli (Dave) Butera, and Kerry (Rich) Scott.

Joe’s memorial service will be held on his birthday Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5 PM – 8 PM with visitation beginning at 5PM. At 6:30 PM family members will speak in Joe’s Celebration of Life Ceremony at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral mass will be held January 13, 2018 at 10am at St. Kateri Church, 427 Stanhope Rd, Sparta, NJ.
