He was born August 16, 1933 in Bronx, New York. He served in the Armed Forces in 1954 for two years during the Korean War. John was in the reserves until July, 1960 with Honorable Discharge.
John was the loving husband of the late Joan Woitsky. They were happily married for 56 years. He raised his family in Dumont before retiring to Toms River with his wife. John moved in with his family in 2014 and settled in Franklin in 2019.
John worked very hard to support his family. He was a baker by trade and worked for Dunkin Donuts in Hackensack; then Pfizer in maintenance before retiring. John had a "great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh with his jokes." His hobbies included collecting coins, bowling, playing cards, flea marketing and being with family on weekends.
John is survived by his daughter Lynn Farina and her wife Maryann; son John Woitsky; son Stephen Woitsky and his wife Connie; and daughter Diane Woitsky. He is survived by 10 of his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be on Wednesday, February 7 from 4pm-8pm at Goble Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 1pm on Thursday, February 8 at Kensico Cemetery, Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, N.Y.
