James Francis Doran Jr.

James Francis Doran Jr., 77, of Sparta, NJ, passed away on July 25, 2020 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He went home to the Lord after a lengthy and courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He spent his childhood in Jersey City and then Paramus, NJ before moving to Sparta, NJ where he has lived for the last 45 years with his family. James graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ in 1964 with a bachelor degree in finance. He had a lengthy career in banking and retired a Senior Vice President from Yardville National Bank, in 2005. James was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. James is survived by his loving wife Nancy Fontana Doran; his beloved children Laura and Jimmy, his son-in-law John and the lights of his life his grandchildren Jessica and Jack, and his sister-in-law Sue. He was the beloved son of the late James Doran and Loretta Lohmeyer Doran, he is also survived by a brother Timothy Doran and sister Maureen Perusse and predeceased by his brother Kevin Doran. Friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, July 31, 2020, from 5-8pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 9:30am at St. Thomas of Aquin Church, 53 Kennedy Ave, Ogdensburg, NJ 07439.
