

Sparta- George R. Mohlenhoff passed into eternal life on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover. He was 65 years old. Mr. Mohlenhoff was born in Mineola, NY to John and Madeline (Hugo) Mohlenhoff and lived in East Northport, NY before moving to Sparta, where he lived the past 32 years. George served his country proud with the U.S. Army from 1965-67’ and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a Manager, Contract Manufacturing with Bayer HealthCare, Consumer Care Division in Morristown, NJ for 25 years, and was involved in many fundraisers through his company, participating in the “American Heart Walk”, and the “Science Makes Sense” project in the Whippany school district. He was a communicant of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha RC Church in Sparta and served as past finance committee chairman. George was an avid car buff, and was recognized as playing “Santa” at the Lake Mohawk Boardwalk. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Laura (Connolly) Mohlenhoff, two sons; Brian and wife Lynda of Jefferson, and Eric of Rockaway, a daughter; Sarah and husband Bhupesh Joshi of Sparta, a brother; John Mohlenhoff of Chestertown, NY, and three grandsons; Tyler, Andrew, and Simon. Friends and family are invited to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ on Tuesday 7 ~ 9 pm and Wednesday 2~ 4 & 7~ 9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10 am at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha RC Church, Sparta, with burial following in Sparta Cemetery.
