Andrew was born on June 7, 1967 in Cincinnati, Ohio to William Edward Marrow (deceased) and Marguerite “Judy” Marrow. He is survived by his wife Carol Bassie, ex-wife Mary Jane Daniels, Sisters Debbie Marrow, Terry Leathery, Ann Mooney, and Bridget Mooney, and countless friends whom he led into various antics over the years. He worked for many years as a salesman in the utilities meters industry.
Andrew, who was often told he looked like George Clooney, swept his wife Carol off her feet in 2014 with his charm and humor. His adventuresomeness convinced Carol to try things she never thought she would, such as zip lining, camping, kayaking, and more. Their favorite thing to do together was to attend concerts and both camping and tropical island music festivals.
He worked with his mother at a resort in Franconia, NH for a time as the bartender, keeping the bar open after hours (even though he wasn’t supposed to, in typical Andrew rebellious fashion). His favorite thing to do with his mother as a youth was watch “Creature Feature” with a huge bowl of popcorn.
Andrew had a talent for lighting up a room with his charm, wit, and humor and was generally the ringleader or, at least, an integral part in many shenanigans. His best and worst quality was that he pushed the “line” but in the process made sure his friends were always having fun. He was also great with children, though he didn’t have any of his own, ensuring that they had safe but adventurous fun (including climbing down a cliff to the beach), and he thought of the children attending his annual Memorial Day gathering by always having child-appropriate video and other games.
We will forever cherish our memories of Andrew, a life-long Dead Head. “What a long, strange trip it’s been.”
Visitation for Andrew will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 1-5 pm at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for later this spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations dedicated to Andrew be made to the American Stroke Foundation at https://americanstroke.org/donate/.
