Frederick Martin Watson, age 51, of Wharton NJ passed away on October 15. An avid outdoorsman and history buff, Fred enjoyed activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and skiing. He was a risk analyst for TSA and prior to that lived, worked and skied in Keystone Colorado. Fred was a hockey goalie back in the day and a fan of all the Canadian hockey teams. Like his mother, Fred was a big reader, with “The Wheel of Time” being a favorite series. He spent his life learning about history and the effects of conflict on modern times. A highlight of one such reenactment in PA was his meeting WWII veteran Major Dick Winters known from Band of Brothers. He was a talented craftsman of painted soldier game pieces who enjoyed recreating battles in miniature form. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Patricia and Alfred, as well as his sister Karen. A wonderful brother, amazing uncle, and trusted & loyal friend to “friends who were family”, he is survived by his sisters, Heidi M. Watson and Susan A. Doud, brother-in-law, Timothy B. Doud, niece Patricia, nephew Michael, and many aunts and uncles.
