Erin, of Sparta, New Jersey, is survived by her husband Eddie, daughters Rylee and Mackenzie, mother Kathy Jones, Sister Kerie Angele, brother in law Leo Angele, nephew Leo, niece Lindsay and a multitude of extended family, friends and colleagues. She was predeceased by her mother in law Diget Dupont-Day.
After graduating in 1999 from A&M Consolidated in College Station, she moved to New York City to attend a performing arts school to pursue her dreams of acting and singing after high school dance team assured her of this was absolutely the path for her. It wasn’t. Snooty dance teachers didn’t mesh will with her personality. Next she tried waitressing, bar tending and nannying. While she loved her little charges (and their swanky Central Park apartment, let’s be honest), it still wasn’t the right fit. It was when she decided to check out the EMT program that her true light started to glow. Erin realized this was her hearts calling. She excelled at caring for others and loved the adrenaline rush of work in NYC so much that she went back to school to become a Paramedic.
Erin had even bigger dreams and continued on in school with the support of her mentor and paramedic partner Papa Joe. Through this time, she met Eddie, fell in love, got married, gave birth to their two beautiful girls, completed courses to become an RN and start her BSN all while working as a nurse in a pediatric office and an elementary school.
Erin fought against COVID as an emergency room nurse and although exhausted, she still pressed on to her ultimate dream of joining the Labor and Delivery team. Her light shining brightest, she held hands, educated, supported and encouraged women through one of the most difficult and miraculous times of their lives.
While Erin’s work was her passion, her heart was happiest spending her summer days with Eddie, Rylee and Mackenzie on Beach 4 at Lake Mohawk, celebrating the girls birthdays at Great Wolf Lodge, visiting favorite places and friends in Sparta and cuddling her animals. Her greatest joy was being a mother and was the loudest cheerleader at the girls swim meets and coached flag football often volunteering Eddie too. Erin’s family was the center of her world.
Although she was kept from completion, she was moving forward yet again to receive her BSN in Nursing, begin the Master’s program and ultimately become a midwife. While Erin can’t be captured in a single column or even page, it is clear that she made a mark on all those around her. She loved her family and friends fiercely and her light will continue in the world through all those lives she touched.
