Claire was born November 6,1988 in Newton, NJ to Daniel Fendt and Dorothy Fendt Hanley. Claire grew up in Sparta, NJ and was a graduate of Sparta Middle School and a 2007 graduate of Sparta H.S. She attended Sussex County College.
Claire was a very intelligent, talented artist and writer who excelled in taking online college classes. Her love of animals was evident as she always adopted a shelter cat and would give them an amazing life until they passed. Her dream was to open up a cat sanctuary. Claire lived in Philadelphia for the past six years. Previously she lived in Bayonne, NJ, where she made many friends and spent many a night in “The Green Room”. Claire was also a proud member of the LGBQT+ community and a true “Anglophile” and spent a year in Brighton, England.
Claire leaves behind her mom, Dorothy Fendt Hanley and stepdad, Michael Hanley, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa, her dad, Daniel Fendt and stepmom, Kathleen, of Savannah Georgia, her sister Martha and brother in law John, of Toms River, NJ and her two nieces, Sofia and Vada. Claire is also survived by her many beloved Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She was predeceased by her cousin, Christian in 2011, her niece, Scarlet Rose in 2017 and her beloved grandparents, Harry and Helen Butler, Kate Fendt and step grandmother, Carole Hanley.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 2pm - 4pm at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871.
