We're very sorry to hear of Chuck's passing, but at the same time recall the wonderful life be enjoyed, especially with his wife Barb and his loving family.  We feel so fortunate we got to spend time enjoying a luncheon with Chuck and you on his visit to Rock Island.  As his one time secretary, I thoroughly enjoyed working with Chuck. Mr. Morrell is the father of my dear friend, Denise. All through our childhood, he always greeted me with a kind smile and soft spoken words. The love he had for his family was evident. I could see it reflected back from Denise when she smiled and talked of her dad. 
I am glad he is finally at peace, dancing, skiing, rejoicing !

My family and I feel very fortunate to have had the privilege of knowing Chuck. He was kind and generous and treated my family as his own. We are sending our love to the entire Morrell family. Thank you for sharing Chuck with us.

My name is Kevin Moroni.  For those who don't know me, I am one of Charles Morrell's grandchildren.  I apologize for not being able to attend the funeral.  I want everyone to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.  

My grandfather left so many good memories.  There was a time he took us on a hay rack ride and we picked out pumpkins to carve for Halloween.  He loved to snow ski.  I admired his passion for painting!  Grandpa and grandma gave me a gift when I was a child.  I cherish this book the most out of my collection and still have it on my bookcase.  Though written for a child, I still enjoy reading it every once in a while...Where in the Zoo are You?  It makes me smile!

Living so far away in Illinois we didn't get to spend a lot of time with grandpa Chuck.  However, my father, Greg Moroni, shared a story with me that I'll always remember.  My father was a young boy when Charles met Barbara.  The two were a match made in Heaven.  At the time, my father who was given the role of "man of the house" by his uncle Bart did not think so.  He thought grandpa Chuck was trying to move in on his territory!  Grandpa Chuck was merely doing his best to be a good husband and father respectively.  He did his best to teach my dad many things starting with how to ski and most importantly how to be a good person with moral values.  They butted heads from time to time but in the end the two became a true father and son!  

What I am trying to say is that Grandpa Chuck had a big heart.  He took on the role of a husband and father knowing it wasn't going to be easy.  But he stayed true to his heart and loved his family no matter how hard during life's ups and downs.  

When everyone gets together I know they will share their fondest memories of Grandpa Chuck.  I believe he would want us to enjoy sharing these stories with smiles and laughter.  Let's give him that gift since he was such an inspirational gift to all of us!  All my love!  Kev

One of the most remarkable men in my life! He will be so missed. Strawberry picking will never be the same...one of my fondest memories of Mr. Morrell. His love for his wife was unmatched by anyone. Praying you are reunited with Mrs. Morrell now and that  he has peace and strawberry fields forever. Much love to the family. I hope you all find comfort in happy memories that he gave you.

My Uncle Charlie has been a part of my life since I was born in 1940.  He was a caring and thoughtful man who kept in close contact with his sister, my mother, until her death at 95 in 2011.  he will be missed by all of us who were lucky enough to be part of his family.

We had only moved in four months before, but on January 22, 2011, our kind neighbor Chuck included us as his guests to what he pronounced to be his First 
Annual Holiday Open House Brunch.  Special.  Two months later, we had the joy 
of having him as our guest for the first time. Afterwards, I jotted down a note: “91-yr-old Chuck Morrell was one of our guests tonight.  He took seconds on my sugar-free  Cherry Cheesecake, and seemed to enjoy sharing his life with us. An amazing nonagenarian!”   Our friendship grew, as did our admiration of and love for Chuck, as well as for his beautiful,  extraordinary daughter Denise. What a 
privilege to know and love you!

You have been such a wonderful influence for 50 years of my 50+ years of life. You are the most remarkable man I know. We grew up with your love, kindness and generosity. May peace be with you and forever dancing with Mom.
