Barbara Stewart, 78 of Sparta, NJ passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in her home. She was born in Passaic, NJ on August 10, 1937. She was the daughter of Emil and Mary (Sidlousky)Tomaskovic. Barbara attended Pope Pias High School in Passaic, NJ. She lived in Passaic, NJ and then moved to Sussex County, NJ. She lived at Concetta Towers in Franklin, NJ and most recently moved to the Sparta Knolls Senior Community in Sparta NJ.Barbara worked at the Nabisco Cookie Factory in Clifton, NJ, the former Playboy Club in Vernon, NJ, was the manager of Townsquare Garden Apartments in Newton, NJ and also worked for the Catholic Family and Senior Center in Vernon, NJ. Barbara enjoyed playing cards, board games, writing poetry and music and spending time with her family. Two record companies, Hilltop and Columbine records recognized her songs she wrote in memory of her son, Christopher Stewart as, “real people poetry”. She was inducted into the Library of Poets and was involved with the Sussex County Project Self Sufficiency and received many accolades and awards. Barbara is preceded in death by her late former husbands, Charles Baum and Harmon Stewart, her beloved son, Christopher Stewart, her mother Mary (Sidlousky) Tomaskovic, her father Emil Tomaskovic and her beloved brother Edward Tomaskovic. Barbara is survived by her son, Robert Baum of Washington State, daughters Debbie Baum of Sussex, NJ. and Christine Stewart of Stockholm, NJ, her sisters Evelyn Riley of Franklin, NJ and Maryann Ross of Stockholm, NJ, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, July 6, 2015 from 11am-1pm with a funeral service at 1pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. Interment will follow at N. Hardyston Cemetery.
