She was born April 14, 1950, to William Douglas Barker and Gracie Louise Ray in London, KY.
She married Robert Neal on January 18, 1982 in Monroe, MI.
Sharon was a generously loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, niece, cousin and friend. She was crippled and bed-ridden with Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years, yet never let that dampen her loving and positive spirit. Rather than dwell on her own infirmities, she was always concerned about the health, well-being and happiness of those around her. She unequivocally loved her God Jehovah and would talk at length about Him to anyone who would listen, even Robo Calls who would immediately disconnect her. She had an unconditional love for her family and friends with an intensity rarely found. She was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and grandson Aaron Burke.
She is survived by her husband Robert Neal of Oak Island, NC, her 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren of whom she was always so proud: son Michael Kruse, Jr. of Southport, NC (children Michael III, wife Sadie, son Zane; Jessica, partner Paul, son Brycen); daughters Robin Beckman of Belleview, FL (husband Jeff, son Christopher, children Riley, Easton); Dietra Hunsucker of Southport, NC (husband Kenneth, Jr., children Ashley; Anna, partner Ty, children Kaylee, Nicholas); Jolynn Lewis of Bolivia, NC (husband Joe, children Robert, Andrea, Lillie, Brandon), many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to list but are not forgotten.
She is being cremated at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service. A Visitation, Memorial, and Celebration of Life Services will be announced at a later date.
Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Services, 1411 N Howe St. Southport, NC.
