The son of Robert Ross and Olive (Penny) Ross, Robert was raised with strong Maritime roots in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Penny Nelson of Mississauga, Ontario.
Robert was the proud father of Scott Ross, Jennifer Ross-Boshes, and Matthew Ross, and the cherished grandfather of Jack Ross, Ronin Boshes, and Aurora Boshes.
He received his education in Fredericton, including studies at the New Brunswick Technical Institute. In 1978, he made the life-changing decision to immigrate to the United States with his former wife, Judith Ross. There, he built a successful career in construction and development in New Hampshire.
Over twenty years ago, Robert found his home in Southport, North Carolina, where he embraced coastal living, warm weather, and a close-knit community. He was a devoted and active member of the Moose Lodge of Oak Island, where he took great pride in giving back—whether serving breakfast to veterans or lending his skills to construction projects. In the past year, he also became a member of the Moose Lodge in Shallotte, North Carolina, continuing his commitment to community and camaraderie.
The family is deeply grateful for the love and support of Robert’s many friends, the Southport community, and his devoted caregiver, Melissa Brown.
Robert’s life was marked by resilience, hard work, and a sharp sense of humor. He was a man of action, and his presence will be dearly missed by all whom had the pleasure of knowing him.
