Robert Stanley Misiura, 75, died Friday, February 24, 2023 at his residence in Southport. He was born Yonkers, NY on 05 May, 1947, the son of the late Stanley Misiura and Fran Prendki. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Yeager.
After graduating from high school, he spent six years in the US Navy specializing in electronics and playing drums in the Navy Band. Bob spent three years stationed in Puerto Rico and three years in the Aleutian Islands. He worked in an Electronics Shop in California, was an assistant chef at a restaurant in Yellowstone National Park, Rode cross country on his motorcycle, put up electric poles on Ocracoke Island while living in a tent, worked at two pharmaceutical companies doing instrument repair, and other jobs too numerous to mention.
He met his wife Marjorie at Burroughs Wellcome Pharmaceutical Company and they were together for 38 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by a beloved step daughter, Eleanor Gailey and a step granddaughter, Ava Kate Gailey.
His life was an excellent example of self-reliance, for he fabricated and fixed everything he needed himself.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 12 noon in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Richmond, VA.
