Mr. Ekblom was born October 27, 1924 in Stafford, CT, son of the late Robert and Anna Ekblom.
He was a veteran of the US Army Eighth Air Corp, 457 Bomber Group in WWII. He was a navigator on a B-17 Flying Fortress, having flown 35 bombing missions over Germany.
Bob and his wife Gerri, moved to Saint James Plantation in 1996. They played golf often and enjoyed the social activities provided by the clubs in Saint James. Bob was an active member Men’s Golf Associations and participated in many club tournaments.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Gerri Ekblom in 2007.
He is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Lomas; nieces, Betsy and Patricia; and a nephew, Richard.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held and he and his wife's ashes will be spread in the ocean.
