Mr. Blankenship was born November 2, 1951 in West Virginia to the late Roy and Cathleen Dixon Blankenship. Bob was a motivated salesman in the electrical industry. He had refereed high school basketball for several years in Roanoke, Virginia. He also very much enjoyed reading, golfing, working out, driving fast cars, traveling and history. Most importantly he was a Christian.
Survivors include his daughter Kristin Noel Heathcock and future husband David Childers of Ivanhoe; sisters Cathy Wilkinson Drummond and husband Jeff of Winston-Salem; Tammy Humphries and husband Larry of Roanoke, Virginia and several nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Sue Blankenship; and a brother Kenneth Eulas Boyd.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
