Michael Joseph “Mike” Grady, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024, at the age of 76 in Southport, NC. Born in Dobbs Ferry, New York and later settled in Montgomery County, Maryland. Mike led a life marked by dedication, intelligence, and a heartwarming sense of humor.
After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Dayton, he then built a remarkable career in finance starting as a comptroller for Prospect Associates, Ltd., in Rockville, Maryland. Later he became the Vice President of Finance and Administration for The Emmes Company. There he worked closely with the National Institutes of Health. He then served as Chief Financial Officer for Rose Li and Associates (RLA) where he helped propel the firm to realize steady growth and strong financials for years to come. Mike’s professional life was characterized by a keen analytical mind and an unwavering commitment to his work.
In his personal life, Mike was a man of diverse interests. He enjoyed golf, softball, reading history, politics and solving crossword puzzles. His interest in drawing, gardening and candle-making reflected his creative side, while his time spent with family and friends showcased his deep-rooted values of love and companionship.
Mike was a beacon of inspiration to all those who knew him. His clever sense of humor, combined with his ability to solve problems using logic and research, made him a valued figure in both his personal and professional circles. He often inspired others to strive to be better and was always ready to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom.
Mike is survived by his loving partner of 21 years, Jane McInerney; daughter Erin Grady; son Brendan Grady and wife Stephanie Adams; and a grandson. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Grady and Caroline Tino Grady; and brother, John "Jay" Grady.
A Celebration of Life event will be held at a later date.
Mike's legacy of perseverance, humor, and generosity of spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
