Maurice Victor Crouch

Morris is a lifelong resident of Brunswick County, born on November 28th, 1940 in Brunswick County to Jack Carlisle “JC” and Nancy Crouch. He was 82 years old. Morris was known to his family as a father and a beloved “Papa”. Morris graduated from Southport High School in 1960. Morris spent his younger years as a tobacco farmer in Bolivia, N.C. and settled down in Oak Island where he loved playing golf, talking to people he knew and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Morris enjoyed listening to southern gospel, taking long walks around the island and a home cooked meal with dessert.

He is survived by his son Jeff Crouch and his wife, LeAnne, of Oak Island, and his daughter Bobbie Crouch Blackmon and her husband, Rhett, of Oak Island. Four Grandchildren, Brandon Michael Crouch and Josie of Southport, Paige Blackmon Morgan and her husband, Ryan, of Southport, Keri Crouch Brinson and her husband, Jeb, of Southport and Hunter Rhett Blackmon of Oak Island. Three great grandchildren Huck Callaway Morgan(2), Beau Micheal Brinson(1) and Hallie Rhett Morgan(6 months), all of Southport. Three sisters Linda Crouch Strickland of West Palm Beach, Florida, Joan Crouch Bondurant and her husband, Gary, of Wilmington N.C. and Donna Crouch Farr and her husband, Bob, of Springhill, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael Victor Crouch of Bolivia and sister Carol Crouch Byrd of Wilmington.

The family would like to thank Liberty’s Southport Healthcare and Rehab Center along with their hospice program for his care.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by a service at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17th at Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home in Southport.
