Terribly sorry to hear of Mary's passing.   My deepest condolences.

I am very sorry to hear about this loss.  While I have many fond memories from Dennison Ridge Drive, one really stands out.  The look on Mary’s face after I broke my collar bone messing around up on Case Mountain is engrained in my memory.  Being young, fearless, and ignorant to any bone breaks to that point, I knew something was wrong, but didn’t think much of it. When Mary pulled back my shirt collar and I saw her look, she didn’t even have to say anything, but she confirmed, “oh that’s broken.”  Mary was always welcoming to the variety of kids that went in and out her door and I know I always enjoyed visiting her home. Deepest condolences for the family’s loss.

We are very sorry and send our condolences to Ken and family.  We were able to get to know Mary a little better when she was in Surprise helping your mom when she needed extra care and witnessed her kindness first hand.  A beautiful smile and compassionate soul!  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mary was my day care provider from age 5 to adolescence. But she was so much more than that to us.  She helped raise my sisters and I through my mischievous grade school years and was like a second mother to Katie, Carrie and I.  
She was so loving and nurturing but didn’t take any crap and kept a us in-line.  All of us kids bonded under her care and made childhood memories I’ll always cherish.  Including:
- When Ken and Mary bought a big screen TV (back in the 90’s they were HUGE things) and we turned the box into a play house for the next year.
- When I broke the downstairs TV by trying to stick a magnet to it. 
- When Mary would sit in the rocking chair and rock whomever was crying or the youngest. 
- When we would get in trouble for whispering all through out nap time.
- When I became too big to nap and got to hang out with Mary upstairs.

Mary, I’m sorry I ruined your TV by trying to stick a magnet to it annnd for accidentally kicked Neil while twisting on the swings annnnd for refusing to nap during nap time, annnnd for continually sneaking into the woods to play when you told us to stay in the yard annnnd for instigating many childhood quarrels and general mayhem . If it weren’t for your patience, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Now I’ve spent a large portion of my life working with children. So don’t worry, I’ve been sufficiently paid back for all my shenanigans.  I still have the bracelet you brought back for me from a vacation and the necklace you gave me at graduation. 
Mary, you will always be a special person in my life.

Mary and I were very close friends and she will always be cherished by me and my children. We had so many great memories of our early days as Moms.

One of my fondest memories of Mary was when she was a buyer for a large department store in Ct. I was pregnant with our twin daughters. She showed up at my door with many many samples of gorgeous maternity clothes that I was able to wear throughout my pregnancy. Later the next March, when the girls were born, she drove to our home in the Berkshires with Ken carrying many containers of her homemade sauce and casseroles that helped sustain us for those first few weeks. A very kind and generous gesture. Thinking of you all and sending love and prayers of strength and comfort.

I’m going to miss my sister in law, Mary, and going with her to her favorite place for ice cream,  Flava’s and see her enjoy her favorite coconut ice cream!  This was just last month, May 13, 2023.

A celebration of her life will be held at noon on Friday, July 7, 2023 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. The family will have visitation from 10:00 am to noon at the funeral home.
