Meezie was a wonderful and loving person.  Mr. Meezie I know that you are lost without her.  I thoroughly enjoyed working with her on NC's Southeast and the trips and annual meetings we held in Southport.  The two of you made us feel extremely welcome and we loved the apartment behind the house and it worked well with my then young sons.  I am sorry, but I did not learn of her death until today, 7/15/15.  My deepest condolences to you and your family in the loss of such a great lady. May her memory keep a bright lighted area in your heart for eternity.

Meezie will be missed by all who knew her.  I am grateful for the opportunity to have known her and saddened by the news of her passing.  Heaven has truly gained a special angel.  My thoughts and prayers are with Bob, Davey and the rest of the family.

Meezie made a difference to so many people. She made a huge impact in our lives and continued to offer her friendship and support throughout the years. She reached out to us and to others with thoughtfulness and compassion but she did not have to. We will all miss her and we send her family our prayers and sympathy.

I had the privilege of working with Meezie for a number of years.  She was a  kind, dedicated Social Worker that gave her all to the people she served and children of Brunswick County.  A woman of many talents.  She holds a special place in my heart.

When I think of Meezie I can't help but think of her kindness.  Imagine how many people she helped over the years in this community.  Her kindnesses spread out like ripples over the water.  She touched so many of us....

Meezie is one of those people that once you've connected, you're always connected. We met 30 years ago at a time when I made frequent trips to Southport. Those trips are pretty infrequent these days, and so were our visits, but when we reached out to each other it was as if the last time were yesterday. I will miss you, Meezieyour generous spirit, 'can do' attitude, wisdom, playfulness and quick wit. Until we meet again

We are so grateful to Meezie for her kindness and friendship. She always made us smile and was there to share her expertise on flowers, Southport and the inn business. We were always amazed at how much one person could do for a community. All our love and prayers to Bob, her sons and their families, her friends and all of Southport. Meezie was a great friend to me when I first moved to Southport in 2000. As a fellow social worker, she helped me get started doing adoption studies at Brunswick County Department of Social Services. Later, when I became a wedding officiant, Meezie made beautiful bridal bouquets for several brides I married.  I will always be grateful to Meezie for her public service, her gracious Southern hospitality and how she shared her love for flowers with many, many others.
